Giving Back with PIPTA: Care Kits and Networking in Portland, Oregon

Join us for a networking event with Parking & Transportation professionals and a chance to give back to the community.  Meet colleagues, share knowledge, and get plugged into the parking/transportation community while assembling care kits for charity.

This will be an educational and fun event held at the Kittelson & Associates office (Pacific Center), 851 SW 6th Avenue, #600, Portland, OR 97204 at 1:30pm

The event will be followed by a Happy Hour networking mixer at the Quality Bar, 931 SW Oak Street, Portland OR 97205.   

Care kits contain essential items for people experiencing homelessness and will be donated to Blanchet House, a nonprofit social services organization located in Old Town Portland.  All items for the kits will be provided.

People are passionate about parking! Handling parking situations, particularly when emotions run high, demands a keen understanding of potential conflicts and emotions that can become negative. Frontline staff should be well-trained to navigate such scenarios. It is crucial to maintain situational awareness and understand how to diffuse tensions before they escalate. Protective measures, both procedural and interpersonal, are vital to ensure everyone's safety using proven strategies.

IPMI Educational Session - Developing Workplace Resiliency & Organizational Agility

Resilience is the ability to endure, recover and potentially grow in the face of stress and changing demands. While the concept of workplace resiliency isn’t new, our collective ability to fend off the effects of work stressors seems to be at an all-time low. The good news is that resilience is a skillset we can learn and develop over time. This session provides participants with an overview of the importance of developing personal and professional resilience, identifying challenging team dynamics, understanding the effects of organizational change, and the steps required to improve an organization’s responsiveness. This is an introductory-level course designed for all industry personnel and is taught by Cindy Campbell, Senior Training & Development Specialist with IPMI.

PIPTA is hitting the road in and we are excited to offer learning and networking in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and network with professionals in the parking and transportation industry. There will be roundtable and panel discussions to exchange innovative ideas and practices, and learn about innovative mobility, parking and transportation solutions. The networking event is free to PIPTA members and $45 for non-members. We hope to see you there!

Annual Business Meeting

The PIPTA Annual Business Meeting is typically held on the final morning of the annual PIPTA Conference but the 2020 conference was cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.  Instead, we will hold our annual meeting virtually.  The agenda for the 2020 Annual Business Meeting will include a re-cap of 2020 activities, a Treasury Report update, announcement of newly elected Board members, and a look ahead to 2021.

The Annual Business Meeting will be preceded by PIPTA's November Parking & Mobility Pulse scheduled for Thursday, November 19th at 10:00 am MST (9:00 am PST) hosted by Jake Holland with Summit Sealants & Restoration.  We'll be discussing the importance of structure repair, maintenance, and why a construction/repair/maintenance 5-10 schedule is important.  The PIPTA Annual Business Meeting will follow at 10:45 am MST. 

There is no charge to participate in either virtual meeting and all are welcome to attend.  There will be a brief, five-minute break between both meetings as follows:
